Elie Wiesel, Author of Night, Aged 12

 Our English class is studying the memoir Night, by Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel.

I worked in a group with Eva, Pearl and Preslee to create an Empathy Map for Elie at this age.

Elie was sad he couldn't find someone who would teach him about the Kabbalah as he was very eager to learn about it, they would tell him he was to young and not ready for it. Elie came from a very religious family and was very loved by them. 

Jewish religion

 The Jewish religion is called Judaism.

They believe strongly in god.  

Jews do not believe or support in Christmas.

The Jewish place of worship is called Synagogue, It is also a place of meeting for the Jews.

Judaism is the 10th largest religion in the world today. 

Jewish men are obligated to preform a public prayer three times a day.

 In English we have been reading about the poem sad joke on a marae. It is about a man who does not know much about his culture and is struggling a bit with it. The only Maori person he knew was Tihei Mauiora

my personal response... I feel like he was misunderstood and a sad person, I think that by the way he talked and expressed himself, he just came across like that.
